Do you want to get started with video marketing, or share your passions on YouTube, but just don’t know how to jumpstart the process. Sometimes all it takes is some help with content to get started. Today, I want to share some resources with you that you can use to find pictures/movie clips, music, and written content for free. But, first…why would you even want to? Because if you’re looking for traffic to expand your online business and networks, video is where it’s at!
Now, that I hopefully have you convinced, let’s go…
I recorded a video for you. It’s below, so if you would rather just watch, scroll down!
Free Resources for Your YouTube Videos
1. Pictures & Video Clips
For pictures, don’t feel like you have to take them all yourself. Check out free stock photo sites. Some of my favorites are:
PicJumbo – totally free photos for your commercial and personal works
Unsplash – free, do whatever you want, high-resolution photos (10 new ones every 10 days)
Design Your Own Lovely Blog has a post with a great list of stock photo resources. Marianne also goes into licensing: The Big Guide to Free Images
My Stock Photo Resources Board on Pinterest
Video clips…
Finding free video clips for personal or commercial use, is a bit more challenging, but still workable.
The YouTube editor has a Creative Commons (CC) tab now where you can find video clips to add to your own videos. If you are not familiar with Creative Commons, learn more here: CreativeCommons.org
*Vimeo also has CC clips available at Vimeo.com/creativecommons (Be careful about the license, though. If you want to see more, I have an older video that goes into more detail: Free Videos for Marketing Your Small Business. Just please ignore references to the old channel, because Wow, Immensely Social has been through an overhaul since then!)
More options for your YouTube Videos:
Free Footage – free clips, nothing fancy
If you have extra money to spend, there are plenty of sites to get photos and video footage to use with your own projects. One of my favorites is BigStock. While BigStock has royalty free images and videos, they are not free. Monthly fees with download limits exist. However, you can get a 7 Day Free trial for Videos and a 7 Day Free trial for images if you want to check it out!
2. Music
Free Music Archive – Music for video by Curator by Genre
*Remember that Royalty Free does not necessarily mean free to download, some sites you must pay per audio clip. For more on that: THE BEST SITES FOR FREE, ROYALTY-FREE MUSIC FOR YOUR VIDEOS
3. The Script (Scary I Know)
You, of course, do not have to use a script for your videos, but some people just feel more comfortable that way. If you have an idea, but do not know how to write a script or what to say, you could try PLR content. PLR stands for Private Label Rights. Some Internet Marketers and bloggers are already familiar with using PLR content for their websites and posts. PLR articles and eBooks can give you a base to start from when writing your own content. It’s like having a template that you can customize to your audience.
I use a site called idplr. You can check it out through my affiliate link here: Instant Access to over 8,000 PLR Products (You may find music and video clips here too!) idplr has some paid content, but you get access to the freebies after registering. Another one I’m an affiliate of is by a fellow blogger: EasyPLR There are fees per product on this one, but Don’t Ya just love supporting other bloggers!
Course on Talking Head Videos
*On another note, I just learned about a great resource through Len Smith and my Affiliate Partner Udemy! In a course called Making Talking Head Videos with Ease, Mr. Smith provides a free online teleprompter resource. You can feel like a professional! Easy Prompter
I know that there are a lot of links here, but I wanted to provide you plenty of resources! My apologies if it is overwhelming. Just bookmark the page and come back when yo need the links. I share many resources with you that I have nothing to do with, because I want to help you grow. I do share my affiliate links, as well, for products I believe in and your purchases help support this blog and my partners, so Thank YOU! That helps me to keep sharing free content with you.
Have some great resources that I didn’t mention? Would love to hear about them in the comments!
