The internet is an amazing place. It opens up worlds that we did not have access to before. If you have read any of our That Side Hustle Series, it’s full of people that have been able to take their businesses online to support themselves and their families. More of us can now work doing what we love.

But there is another side to the internet. A darker side *insert evil laugh.

The one of too many tabs open. The one where you have a purpose but end up on a random Facebook video ready to break out the popcorn and waste an hour. It is by design. The platforms want you to stay on there. Hello FB watch tab!

With all the internet’s opportunities there are equal amounts of opportunities, if not way more, for distraction.

We have to ask ourselves what is the best use of our time. Time is precious. It is a gift that we never get back. So it’s time for a digital command center.

That’s why I’m excited to share with you a new tool that will Marie Kondo your digital life.

The objective of cleaning is not just to clean, but to feel happiness living within that environment.

And isn’t that what we would like for our online environment too? Happiness, focus, and purpose!

Let’s Spark some Joy!

Today’s productivity and focus tool is called Idenati. The team at Idenati reached out to me and let me try it out to see if it would be a great fit to share with you. And let me tell you it totally is! Idenati is sponsoring today’s post but opinions are my own.

So what is Idenati?

A Digital Command Center

Maybe you have seen those walk-in-the-door command centers on Pinterest that you can DIY for your home. You hang your keys, sort your mail, and maybe even take off your shoes. It’s a place to manage your home and things without losing the important stuff. Because we all know our keys would be down in a couch cushion somewhere otherwise.

Idenati is an online command center that allows you to visually sort the websites and tools you use online into different categories so you can stay focused on the tasks at hand.

Declutter The Internet

So essentially you are decluttering the internet. I think Marie Kondo would be proud.

Get Started with Idenati

As with most things, Idenati takes some effort to setup to start but once you have your websites and accounts there it will make your work from home day so much easier and save you so much time. But the really great thing is how much it will help you focus.

There is no better time than now to reduce the digital clutter in your life!

And they have made the platform minimalistic and intuitive. So it’s easy. Let me give you a quick walk through and look at the digital command center and then we will dive deeper into how you could use this to increase your focus.

Let’s talk passwords and then we will get into some category ideas and uses.

Secure Your Passwords

Idenati has you create a master password to use the platform. In case you ever forget your master password, Idenati creates backup keys that you can either receive by email or have Idenati keep them. This way you can give the keys to have your password reset if needed but no one else as long as you keep your keys secure.

They have an option for encrypted password sharing too in case you want to share an account, say Netflix, with someone else who is not on Idenati.

Now let’s talk about what you may want to add to your Idenati account once you have signed up. You can get started with your account here if you have not already.

I suggest you start with just 2-3 categories so you can see how easy it is. Co-founder Jeremy is super easy to talk to and he offers 1-on-1 time to show you how it works if you want.

Kondo Style It With Categories

What worked great for me to easily set up my digital command center was to think about the websites and tools I use online in categories. Just like Marie tells you to sort things when you are tidying up the life-changing magical way. See what I did there 😉

What apps and tools do you use online for your social media? Finances? Graphic design?

Look through your smartphone, tablet, and computer.

If you use an iPad like me, you may already have apps sorted into categories on your home screen or into files on your computer. You may want to even take out a piece of paper and just jot down the different categories with the apps underneath each.

Choose your 2 most important categories and add the apps to your Idenati command center under the relevant category. Once you see how easy it is and how much time it saves later when you want to use the sites online, you will be encouraged to keep going.

The categories in your digital command center are automatically sorted alphabetically making whatever you need easy to see.

Some potential categories to consider:

  • Finances
  • Social Media
  • Email
  • Marketing
  • Home Life
  • Health and Fitness
  • Content Inspiration
  • Online Learning
  • Blogging

Work From Home Workflow

Once you have your digital command center, you can think about your daily workflow. Do you check your email first thing in the morning, have a morning routine that includes being online, schedule social media posts, etc.?

Make yourself a little schedule with which category is first in your day, second, and so on to stay focused, get more done, and end the day feeling great.

You could even use the notes section to write reminders to yourself or encouraging words relevant to the tile.

To edit a tile after it is created, simply click the three little dots on each tile.

Have apps you want at the top within a category? You can favorite them.

So, if your real life or your digital life is feeling like this:

It is a great time to get it sorted with a Marie Kondo style cleanout and digital command center. Because that’s just stressful and overwhelming.
