Yesterday I shared a video on Twitter, by Grammy winning performance author and poet J.Ivy. It’s called “Stay in Your Lane.”
The message has a lot of relevance for entrepreneurs and solopreneurs. When you work online it is so easy to look at other bloggers, vloggers, freelancers, and marketers and think their journey has been easy. They may appear to have had overnight success, but I bet if you asked them, they would have countless stories of struggle. Just like you may be feeling right now, they have felt discouraged, exhausted, and broke. It is easy to feel like you need to be someone else in order to achieve success and it’s tempting to stray, “out of your lane” and try to copy someone else’s journey. But, don’t. It won’t work anyways because their journey is not for you.
Someone else’s journey is not for you. Find YOUR purpose. @lorihil @J_Ivy @mistressoftea (Click to Tweet)
All you gotta do in life is stay in your lane. Stay in your lane never mind the rain. Never mind the pain. There’s going to be speed bumps, so you either gotta jump or pump the breaks. Life gonna dish out heartaches and heartbreaks. So, it’s all about how much of it that you can take. Don’t wait, move…
Shift, but don’t stop.
Being an online entrepreneur has many rewards, but can also be super hard. Challenges come to anyone who is seeking to make a difference in the world, to do their thing, and follow their dreams. But, sometimes you have to stop the obsessing, the comparing, the suppressing and relax. Breathe.
You have a message, you have a life all your own, and the way for you to share it will be revealed. You have to do the work. The hardcore, seat of your soul, personal, healing work. But, you will when you are ready. Stay on your path and Be YOU. Everyone may not like it, but that’s ok. You will draw in your tribe. The ones who want to hear what you have to say. The ones who want to support you.
Wishing you the courage to “Stay in Your Lane” and do YOUR amazing work.
