Find A Pinship aka Pinterest Friendship
If you have been following me for any length of time, you likely know about my Pinterest obsession. Yep, I’ll admit it. Finding a Pinterest Friendship aka “Pinship” that you can participate in, during the day, is a great way to feel connected and engaged. Found a helpful pin while doing your “Pinterest marketing?” Then share it with your Pin Pal! (Using quotes as “Pinterest Marketing” is often just an excuse to be an online hoarder of awesomeness and that’s completely ok.)
Really, having someone you can bounce things off of and share with, when you work from home, works on any social network. I’m just biased to connection through pin sharing.
Obtain a Chihuahua and a Tennis Ball
Midday catch and toss with a chihuahua makes for a delightful break of fun and mayhem. My chihuahua often interrupts my day with that little green ball, but it is a welcome break. She is saving my eyes from too much screen time and helping me keep my sanity. It’s well known that furry friends reduce stress, so find yourself one.
Pets can be calming stress-fighters.

Don’t feel ready to be a pet owner? Go through some trial runs with your neighbors chihuahua.
Wear Bright Nail Polish
I don’t know what it is about it, but having a pop of color on my nails, while typing away at my keyboard, just makes my day happier. Color psychology is a thing, so I’m not crazy…at least not for this reason. Not sure what color to choose? Check this out, of course via Pinterest…

Consult Your Mood Board
Keeping a mood board, with your life and brand’s scheme, can be a wonderful way to stay on track during the day? Let’s say you need to create some graphics, but are not feeling very creative? Consult your brand’s mood board to stay true to the tone and feel you want your graphics to ignite. Now, let’s say you are about to eat a cheeseburger when you consult your life’s mood board full of green and healthy vibes. You may just change your mind and opt for an avocado instead. Mood boards are great for so many things. Pinterest has tons of mood board inspiration, but you can consult Google too!

Jump Rope, Skip, Rebound
Break your day up with short bursts of exercise, not just for a great bod, but to keep the blood pumping to your brain.
Working out, especially between age 25 and 45, boosts the chemicals in the brain that support and prevent degeneration of the hippocampus, an important part of the brain for memory and learning. ~Greatist
Doing something playful, like skipping, jumping rope, or jumping on a rebounder is more fun and brings more joy. Try to stay stressed skipping like a school girl, I dare ya! Training ropes work too if you are the intense CrossFit type!
Watch A Mind Movie
Mind Movies are visualization tools that help you keep your goals in mind. Don’t look at them like a whoo whoo concept where the things you put in are going to “magically” appear in your life. They are more of an instigator to help you clarify and document your dreams and goals. Keep that big picture in mind about why you are freelancing your life in the first place. When you are feeling a bit discouraged during the day, just play your mind movie and focus in on your goals!
