I don’t know about you, but I’m super psyched about the Adult Coloring Book Craze!
Coloring is something that I have been using as “cheap therapy” for a while now. I have recently been getting back into more creative projects, as you could probably tell from all the DIY Posts lately! After working on a crafty project several weeks ago, I realized how much I have been missing that part of me. Writing is an art that I do all the time, but coloring is something that ignites both hemispheres of the brain and has a calming effect.
And who couldn’t use some more ZEN in their lives!!!
Everyone seems to be talking about Coloring from Katie Couric on Yahoo News to Dr. Oz! Check it out:
There’s a run on printing presses, a scramble for paper, reported shortages of coloring pencils. Adults across the globe are suddenly going crazy over coloring. Check out Amazon’s bestsellers list and you’ll find that several of the top slots are filled by coloring books.
Coloring As Therapy
Focusing on a creative activity, like coloring, gives energy to the creative part in your brain: calming and relaxing it if it’s stressed. ~DoctorOz.com
I was so excited about this fabulousness that I created some downloadable coloring book packages for the Immensely Social Etsy Shop!
A shameless plug 😉

Personally I don’t have the patience for the adult coloring books because they take hours to do and I find that frustrating. I’d much rather color a coloring book for kids for therapy! Stopping by from the Sharefest!

That works great too Emily! Thanks for stopping by!

This is awesome! My sister loves coloring (she’s 30) and has always done paint by numbers. Part of the appeal is that they are time consuming because it’s like a therapeutic hobby. I’m going to get her some of your pages for Christmas and she will LOVE IT!!
lorihil says
Thanks, Lindsay! I am about to turn thirty myself and do not plan on quitting coloring books anytime soon 😉 I hope your sister continues to enjoy it!
